There is a particular kind of creative who doesn't wait for an invitation. They shoot on a budget that shouldn't work, build teams out of people who believe in the concept, and produce work that makes editors stop and look twice.
That's who The Disruptors Issue is for. Linger Magazine's September 2026 print issue is dedicated entirely to disruption — in fashion, in beauty, in culture, and visual language we use to talk about all three. 120 pages. One clear position: the most interesting work happening right now comes from the people who stopped asking for permission. We're accepting fashion magazine editorial submissions now through May 15, 2026. And we want to tell you exactly what that means.
What The Disruptors Issue actually is
Since 2010, Linger has built its identity around the idea that fashion is bigger than the front row. We’ve covered emerging designers before they had publicists, published editorials from photographers who didn’t have agency representation, and told stories that the glossies were too cautious to touch.
The Disruptors Issue takes that instinct and turns it all the way up.
Every feature, every spread, every image in this issue will reflect one question: who is actually changing things? Not who is being talked about. Not who has the biggest budget or the most followers. Who is doing work that makes the rest of the industry reckon with what’s possible?
The answer, we believe, is a lot of people — many of whom are submitting editorial work right now and haven’t found the right home for it yet. We’d like to be that home.
The honest truth about fashion magazine editorial submissions is that most of them fail at the same place: concept. Not execution, not technical quality – concept. A beautiful set of images with no reason to exist together reads as a portfolio, not an editorial.
What we’re looking for is a point of view. A story that had to be told this way, with these people, in these clothes, in this light. The kind of shoot where every decision – casting, location, wardrobe, art direction – was made in service of a single idea.
For The Disruptors Issue specifically, we’re drawn to work that challenges the expected. Unconventional casting. Visual references that don’t feel borrowed. Concepts that take a clear creative position. We’re not interested in what’s safe, and we’re not interested in what’s merely competent. There is plenty of that everywhere.
Technically, we require a minimum of 300 DPI for print consideration, and every submission needs full team credits – photographer, stylist, makeup artist, hair stylist, model, creative director. Not because we’re bureaucratic about it, but because credits matter. The people who did the work with you deserve to be on the page.
We welcome emerging and established creatives. International teams, absolutely. If the work is right, geography is irrelevant.
How to Submit
All editorial submissions for The Disruptors Issue go through Kavyar. It’s the platform we use to keep the review process organized and fair for everyone who submits.
Visit [kavyar.com/linger-magazine/submissions/fall-winter-print-issue](https://kavyar.com/linger-magazine/submissions/fall-winter-print-issue), create or log into your account, upload your editorial with complete credits and a concept note, and pay the $15 submission fee. Every submission gets a personal review from our editorial team and a response within 3-4 weeks. The fee is non-refundable – it covers that review time, regardless of outcome.
The deadline is May 15, 2026. We do not accept late submissions.
One thing worth saying clearly about the concept note: don’t skip it. A few sentences about what the editorial is, what you were trying to say, and why you made the decisions you made will do more for your submission than an extra image. Our editors aren’t here to reverse-engineer your intention. Tell us what you meant and let the work back it up.
Our team personally reviews every submission – there’s no algorithm making these calls. If your work is approved for The Disruptors Issue, you’ll receive a digital tearsheet, a high-resolution PDF of your published spread, and a contributor discount on print copies of the issue. We’ll reach out via email with next steps.
If your work isn’t selected, you’ll still receive a response. We don’t ghost. The decision will be made with genuine attention to what you submitted, and if this issue isn’t the right fit, that doesn’t mean Linger isn’t.
Linger has always been a disruptor in its own right. We started as a digital magazine when print was still considered the only credible format. We published fashion editorials when we had no advertising budget to do it with. We built an audience by being consistent about what we cared about, not by following what the larger publications were doing. The Disruptors Issue is, in a lot of ways, a love letter to that instinct – in us, and in every creative team that has ever built something worth seeing without the infrastructure that was supposed to make it possible.
If that sounds like you, we genuinely want to see your work.
Deadline: May 15, 2026
