On August 9th, during the prestigious Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival, Camille Rose Founder & CEO Janell Stephens joined forces with Trell Thomas of Black Excellence Brunch to honor actor, director, and activist Sanaa Lathan. The event brought together luminaries such as Uzo Aduba, Sylvia Obell, and Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett to celebrate Black excellence and foster a sense of community among the nearly 200 attendees.
The Black Excellence Brunch, powered by Camille Rose, has become more than just an event—it’s a growing movement that pays homage to the past while inspiring the future. Founded by Trell Thomas, this series puts a new spin on the cherished tradition of Sunday dinners, offering a platform to celebrate Black culture, history, and excellence in all their forms.
