Fabric Fact – Hemp
Hemp is the most durable of natural fibers, 3 times the tensile strength of cotton. Hemp fabric is weather-resistant against UV rays and mold-resistant. Hemp can be blended with other fibers, achieving different qualities in the garment. A good blend is hemp/silk and hemp/cotton. Its durability aides in its use to make jeans, bags, canvas, etc. Hemp stalks are used for fiber and is easy to grow with no chemicals. The texture of hemp cloth gets softer each time it is laundered.
